Director of Project Management

POSITION TITLE: Director of Project Management
DEPARTMENT: Project Management
REPORTS TO: Vice President

MAJOR DUTIES:
While providing leadership and direction of the Project Management team, the Director of Project Management will work directly with the Applications department, customers and Project teams to control project scope, resolve issues, prioritize work and ensure profitability. The incumbent will work with the management team and plant personnel to deliver the Eclipse Vision and the Eclipse Entrepreneurial Culture on time and on budget.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work with Internal Customer to set initial milestones, schedule, and baseline costs that meet all project requirements and Company standards
• Oversee and assist Project Managers to deliver all projects on time and on budget
• Chair production meeting to identify and manage Escalation items
• Regularly review overall project status and open issues identified through the escalation process
• Oversee recovery plans to keep projects on time and budget as identified by escalation process
•  Verify any task requiring a recovery plan has been completed by verifying appropriate action has been taken by Project manager and the project is back on track
• Ensure no project reaches red flag status
• Verify the responsibilities for all parties are strictly followed, and our Project Operating Policy is adhered to develop, implement, improve, and monitor Project Management Procedures. Support implementation and assist with oversight of Eclipse subsidiary divisions Manage/coach, train and develop direct reports
• Responsible for observing and ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental rules and regulations as well as meeting or exceeding business safety and environment objectives
• Financial forecasting, creating / managing operational and budget tracking unit costs daily to maximize business results
• Effectively communicate with key customers
• Work closely with leadership team to plan project and engineering work to make sure resources are available to meet contract commitments and prioritize competing needs across project portfolio
• Ability to perform in-depth problem solving
• Administer consistent corrective action when required
• Maintain good corporate citizen role in support of the Eclipse corporate Vision and adhere to all Health and Safety rules and procedures
• Complete other duties and projects as assigned
• Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Eclipse Automation Inc. Conduct Code

EDUCATION:
• Has successfully completed a University Degree or College Diploma in Engineering / Robotics Automation Technology or equivalent experience
• Formal project management training through PMI or equivalent, PMP desired but not essential.

EXPERIENCE:
• 5+ years as a Project Manager in a custom automation facility
• Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of machine automation and integration process
• Apply effective communication and motivational techniques in supervising subordinates
