Maintenance Technician

Department: Plant Management

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance of production and facilities equipment at Eclipse. Key elements of the successful candidate will include a working knowledge of preventative maintenance programs, as well as strong organization skills. Working with supervisors and department personnel is essential to support the Eclipse vision and reflect upon our entrepreneurial culture.

TECHNICAL PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work on preventative maintenance programs including (but not limited to) quarterly and annual maintenance inspections
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns with a sense of urgency to ensure production downtime is kept to a minimum
  • Repair and maintain facilities and equipment
  • Plan and prioritize maintenance projects
  • Continuously improve machine performance and maintenance to produce quality manufacturing
  • Complete machine diagnostic checks and troubleshoot
  • Debug and commission control systems related to production robotics, machinery and assembly equipment
  • Monitor daily machine/tool performance, perform regular checks and implement actions to improve availability and yield
  • Assist in the maintenance of Eclipse group of buildings, working in coordination with Plant Management staff
  • Maintain OHSA and other health and safety compliance, including ISO documentation
  • Assist in the maintenance and coordination the Eclipse fleet of vehicles
  • Work with minimal supervision
  • Communicate issues with supervisors as needed to complete assigned tasks in a safe and timely manner
  • Participate in continuous improvement objectives
  • Report any unsafe activities within the company to the Maintenance Supervisor

PROJECT EXECUTION

  • Ensure scheduled milestones are met, company ISO Standards are followed and concepts meet Eclipse Automation quality, safety and reliability standards
  • Adhere to the Eclipse Project Operating Policy
  • Promote personal development and safe work practices and improve department operations
  • Foster the development of a culture reflective of Eclipse Automation core values
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned

TRAVEL: Minimal travel required between Eclipse facilities in Cambridge. A valid driver’s licence is a must.

EDUCATION: Must have a Certified Millwright License or equivalent experience.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Ideally 1-3 years in an industrial environment
  • Quick response and excellent troubleshooting skills will be key
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
