Network/Systems Administrator

POSITION TITLE: Network/Systems Administrator
REPORTS TO: I.T. Group Leader

Reporting to the Director of I.T., the Network Administrator will assist in the upkeep and maintenance of the Eclipse network system and servers. This will be accomplished by providing technical assistance, and effective issue resolution towards identified network issues. The incumbent will ensure compliance is maintained with all required legislation and ensure the integrity of all data and proprietary information (physical and intangible) are strictly adhered to, while delivering the Eclipse Vision and the Eclipse Entrepreneurial Culture.

• Working closely with the I.T. Group Leader and the I.T. Department to ensure network efficiently is upheld
• Responsible for setting up servers and gateways to maintain server functionality
• Managing communication systems to ensure all required information is successfully flowing throughout the organization.
• Frequently monitoring the network system to ensure accessibility is provided to all authorized users.
• Promoting network security and confidentiality by developing network access, monitoring, control and evaluation.
• Maintaining and recording applicable documentation related to network performance.
• Capable of monitoring network performance through careful analysis, performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Installing, updating and integrating new server hardware and applicable applications.
• Engaging in regular network troubleshooting activities and resolving network connectivity issues.
• Recommend software or computer program purchases to preserve and maintain the status of Eclipse technology requirements.
• Implementation and monitoring of Windows Server farm, VMWare hypervisors, iSCSI hardware and software, Cisco network hardware and Cisco IOS, Linux web servers, Linux MySQL servers, WLAN remote offices via VPN, Veritas Backup Exec servers, Citrix Xen Server/Desktop and Microsoft Exchange servers.
• Complete other duties and projects as assigned
• Maintain good corporate citizen role in support of the Eclipse corporate Vision
• Adhere to all Health and Safety rules and procedures
• Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Eclipse Automation Inc. Conduct Code

• Bachelor’s degree in a Computer related field or within a applicable I.T. related discipline

• 5 years of experience within a similar role for a medium to large sized organization
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Exchange Server).
• Extensive understanding of computer hardware, components and systems
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing or automation environment
