Quality Manager

Position Title: Quality Manager
Department: Quality
Reports To: Materials and Quality Director

MAJOR DUTIES:
The Quality Manager will champion, support or lead quality improvement initiatives while supporting the operational requirements of the organization. The incumbent will coordinate all organizational activities with regard to quality, while delivering the Eclipse Vision and the Eclipse Entrepreneurial Culture.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•  Continually review and implement improvements to quality, as they pertain to delivery schedules and price of our products and services improving the systems and processes that deliver them and all the resources that support these processes
•  Ensure that customer requirements and expectations have been accurately identified and that the organization is meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
•  Develop the quality goals and targets in the organization’s strategic plan
•  Promoting quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization
•  Maintaining a constant awareness of the business context and company profitability
•  Assessing product specifications and customer requirements
•  Ensuring compliance with national and international standards and legislation including ISO 9001, CSA Z299.1, CSA N299.1, GAMP, TSSA
•  Considering application of environmental and health and safety standards
•  Develop, implement, communicate and maintain a quality plan to bring the company’s quality systems and policies into compliance with quality system requirements
•  Effectively interact with production and development teams to maintain product supply and help introduce new products
•  Working with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers
•  Manage and maintain the Eclipse’s quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes and finished goods
•  Setting quality assurance compliance objectives and ensuring that targets are achieved
•  Creating and maintaining controls and documentation procedures
•  Liaising with customers’ auditors and ensuring the exception of corrective action and compliance with customers’ specifications
•  Establishing standards of service for customers or clients
•  Monitoring performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports
•  Identify relevant quality-related training needs and delivering training

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
•  BS degree in an applied science or engineering field or equivalent experience

Experience:
• Minimum of 10 years’ management experience in quality assurance
•  Experience in quality management systems and auditing processes
•  Automation industry experience an asset
•  Exceptional written and oral communication skills
•  Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures
•  Solid judgment with ability to make good decisions
•  Strong leadership capabilities
•  Strong organizational skills
•  High attention to detail
