Eclipse Automation was selected by a major solar customer to provide an automated 50MW photovoltaic wafer processing system.
Eclipse provided a complete turnkey solution which consisted of standard Eclipse solar modules customized to suit the unique requirements of the customer. The system included part data tracking and overall equipment effectiveness monitoring software for each process.
The system included the following:
- Schmid Texturing System Load and Unload
- Included wafer stack box unloading (with RFID readers), wafer locate and edge breakage vision verification and 2 robots for wafer transfer
- Despatch Doper System Load and Unload
- Included wafer transfer conveyor to accommodate tending 2 Doper systems, wafer locate and edge breakage vision verification, 180° wafer flipping, wafer buffering via cassette loading / unloading and 3 robots for wafer transfer. System also included 2 robots and cassette loading for station wafer output.
- Schmid InOx Cleaning System Load and Unload
- Included wafer locate and edge breakage vision verification, cassette loading / unloading (with RFID readers), wafer presence verification on Schmid conveyor and 2 robots for wafer transfer.
- SINA System Load and Unload
- Included wafer locate and edge breakage vision verification, cassette loading / unloading (with RFID readers) for buffering, complete carrier transfer system with 2 elevators, multi-lane wafer transport conveyor and 4 robots for wafer transfer.
- Wafer Buffering
- Included overhead cassette buffering conveyors (10,000 wafer capacity), elevators and loader / unloaders
