Case Study 4: Welding Cell Seat Belt Bracket Assembly/Weld Unit Eclipse developed a man/machine interface for the complex assembly and resistance welding. This system was able to ensure quality, and maintained the strict ergonomic standards that is typical to the automotive industry, while still allowing production cycles to be met. The system consisted of 2 basic machines. Op 10 consists of a fixture with retractable pins, 1 stud welder, 1 pinch gun and an auto unload assembly for the removal of the finished product.
OP 20 consists of a sliding fixture, 1 pinch gun, 1 Fanuc Robot and effecter, and a nut welder/nut feeder unit. Here the final stamping is added to the finished assembly from Op 10.
