Eclipse Automation Signs Consultancy Agreement with Irema Ireland to Provide Expertise in Respirator Mask Designs for Canada
Agreement Allows Eclipse to Produce Large Volumes of N95 Certified Masks Domestically
CAMBRIDGE, ON (April 23, 2020) – Eclipse Automation is pleased to announce a consultancy agreement with Irema Ireland, a long-standing manufacturer of respirator and air filtration products. The agreement will give Eclipse access to Irema’s N95 and FFP2 mask product design expertise and technology including respirator designs, specifications, manufacturing process and quality assurance procedures, on an exclusive basis for use in Canada.
In business for more than 35 years, Irema designs and produces the Facemate brand of flat fold style respirators, and is currently at full capacity supplying respirators for the Irish and Western European healthcare community. Their line of certified disposable infection control face masks protects people from harmful particles, pathogens and aerosols that can endanger the respiratory system, such as COVID-19.
This new association with Irema complements last week’s teaming agreement with Harmontronics Automation, China, which allows Eclipse to manufacture, sell, distribute, service, commission and modify the Harmontronics fully automated N95 Vertical Flat-Fold Respirator Mask Production Line System throughout North America.
With these two agreements in place, Eclipse Automation is able to facilitate the rapid design and build of respirator and surgical mask assembly automation systems, as well as bring a qualified, domestically produced N95 respirator to market immediately.
Steve Mai, President and CEO of Eclipse says “Eclipse will immediately initiate work with Harmontronics to customize their equipment to incorporate the Irema designs and begin manufacturing respirators as soon as possible. We believe we will be first-to-market domestically by early July and anticipate ramping up to make 1M units per week, subject to securing purchase commitments. We are also working to qualify domestically sourced raw materials. My goal is to produce this vital life-saving protection for Canadians, by Canadians.”
