Golden Year for Eclipse

For the sixth consecutive year, Eclipse Automation has been recognized for overall business performance and sustained growth with the award of the prestigious Canada’s Best Managed Companies designation.

The 2020 Best Managed program award winners are amongst the best-in-class of Canadian owned and managed companies. Every year, hundreds of entrepreneurial companies compete for this designation in a rigorous and independent process.

Eclipse Automation is recognized for its ability to gain tremendous success while investing in technology, talent, innovation and global business best practices. Aligned with its growth strategy, Eclipse supports its customers with economic advantages within its vertical integration solutions, technical know-how, flexibility and outstanding service.

Within the past year, Eclipse has grown substantially with acquisitions of D&D Automation, a controls engineering specialist in Stratford, Ontario, as well as Transmoduls Ltd. in Veszprem, Hungary, a multi-facility campus of feature-rich automation solutions for the automotive, electronics, food and medical markets. Eclipse’s workforce has reached over 700 members in 14 facilities across North America and Europe. In addition to their head office and multiple sites in Cambridge, Ontario, Eclipse has North American locations in Rock Hill, South Carolina, and Mesa, Arizona.

Eclipse Automation was a winner of Canada’s Best Managed Companies award in 2014 and has successfully requalified every year since, to maintain its status as a Best Managed Gold Standard company. “This year’s Best Managed winners are a testament to the success found when businesses are deliberate about seizing the opportunity to do better; they invest in game-changing technology, commit to their corporate purpose and social responsibility, and solidify their place on the world stage,” said Peter Brown, Private and Co-Leader of the Canada’s Best Managed Companies program. “Canada’s Best Managed Companies celebrate a community of the strongest private businesses that shape our country and fuel Canada’s competitiveness, creating sustainable economic growth in an evolving global market.”

Steve Mai, CEO and President of Eclipse Automation says, “This is our sixth consecutive year of recognition as one of Canada’s Best Managed companies. Each year marks new milestones in our growth. 2019 saw the strategic acquisitions of talented automation businesses in Stratford, Ontario and Veszprem, Hungary to complement our expanding global custom engineering and manufacturing portfolio. As CEO of one of the largest privately owned automation companies in North America, I never take for granted the highly skilled team we have built and their commitment to superior, innovative service for our customers.”

About Canada’s Best Managed Companies Award

Canada’s Best Managed Companies continues to be the mark of excellence for Canadian-owned and managed companies with revenues over $25 million. 4) Platinum Club member (winners that have maintained their Best Managed status for seven years or more).
