Industry 4.0, The New Generation

The Industry 4.0 was first introduced as a German initiative to start developing the virtual version of a manufacturing procedure. This technological advance envisioned the “Smart Factory” or “Smart Manufacturing” in order to change the traditional factory control systems by implementing decentralized intelligence.

In addition, the Smart Factories were influenced by the industry 1.0 that used mechanical production equipment powered through water and steam energy such as the first mechanical loom in 1784. A second development came with the industry 2.0 that reached the mass production by dividing the labor and using electrical power resulting in the first production line in 1870. And finally, the Industry 3.0 operated with electronics and IT to automate production such as the first programmable logic controller (PLC) in 1969. This progress positioned the Industry 4.0 as the digital transformation of manufacturing nowadays.

Despite the fact of the continuous improvement within the industry, humans will always play a significant role in the integrated automation world due to their ability to brainstorm, conceptualize, design, and establish rules and parameters. Therefore, the combination of intelligent machinery and human labor will make any sized innovation possible by transforming the client’s vision into an efficient product.

As a proud member of the Smart Automation Group, Eclipse is working towards becoming a truly “smart automation” company with efforts to move their systems to the cloud in the future. This would allow software applications and information systems to be stored in order to respond faster to changes and in a real-time manner.

Eclipse Automation monitors relevant industries within the manufacturing landscape, searching for emerging markets, trends and new technology in order to provide the best services and technology. This in-depth industry knowledge, combined with an understanding of customer needs, enables Eclipse to provide exceptional high-tech outputs for clients.

Eclipse experts work on one-of-a-kind designs that exercise their knowledge and skills on a consistent basis, ensuring that customers receive the most innovative solutions that add value and help to enhance business operations.
